Rush hours delays over faulty traffic lights at Telford roadworks

A set of faulty traffic lights caused delays by roadworks in Telford during morning rush hour today.

The temporary signals on Priorslee Avenue stopped working some time before 8.45am.

Queues backed up the junction with Castle Farm Way, with motorists unable to travel down the road which temporarily has one lane.

Telford & Wrekin Council said it was aware of the problem and had a team on site to fix the lights.

Workers said the lights were back on by 9.05am.

Confirming the fix, the council said on Twitter: "Issues at Priorslee Ave, which caused delays around Castle Farm Way this morning, have now been resolved."

It previously said: "There's faulty temporary traffic lights on Priorslee Ave which is causing delays around Castle Farm Way this morning.

"We've got teams on site to resolve and ease traffic flow.

"We will be taking this up with utility co who are responsible for the work."
