Mr Corbyn will visit the El Sueno Existe Festival, which is at Y Plas in Machynlleth, from July 28 to 30.

Latin American sounds and sights will spring into life once more at the festival.

Inspired by the legacy of Chile’s visionary singer/songwriter Victor Jara, the festival offers a heady mix of music, dance, poetry, debate and theatre.

The politician will accompany his wife, Laura, who is leading a discussion workshop on her native country Mexico.

Mr Corbyn has been a long-time supporter of the El Sueno festival and this is not the first time he has attended, but his acceptance this year has particular importance as the festival falls shortly after the election.

Each year the festival chooses a different theme and this year the focus is Ecuador; one of the most diverse countries in Latin America.
