This is the new MV Agusta F4 RC

Road-going version of race bike revealed

MV Agusta has revealed details of the updated F4 RC – the road-going version of its racing motorbike.

The design mimics the red and white livery of the World Superbike Championship racer, which is ridden by Brit Leon Camier. It is emblazoned with the number 37 as a nod to the number of titles the manufacturer has taken.

But the comparisons are more than just a paint job. There’s a lightweight titanium single-exit exhaust, which gets a carbon-fibre shroud to further reduce weight and manage temperatures.

The 1.0-litre engine makes 203bhp in standard specification, but this can be upped to 212bhp with the addition of a racing kit. it has a top speed of 188mph and riders can also remove the wing mirrors for track use to improve aerodynamics and reduce weight.

An on-board electronic control unit gives the rider the ability to tweak a variety of parameters such as throttle sensitivity, maximum torque, engine braking and others to offer full control over the riding experience.

Suspension is fully adjustable and comes from Ohlins, while the rear frame structure is made from aluminium with saving weight in mind. Meanwhile, braking comes from Brembo pads and callipers, while a Bosch ABS system works to reduce rear-wheel lift under heavy braking.

UK prices are yet to be revealed, but the MV Agusta F4 RC is available now from $46,000 (circa £34,800).
