Citroen Type H-bodied Relay van available to order next week
Classically styled body kit transforms the look of the current Citroen Relay
A retro body kit that takes design cues from the classic 1940s Citroen Type H for the current Citroen Relay van will go on sale next week.
Created by Caselini Automobili, the conversion kit will cost around £36,070 when fully fitted to the Citroen Relay.
The firm plans to offer conversions of existing vans next year, and will begin selling standalone kits for customers to install at home in 2019. It says that the kits can be fitted to the Citroen Jumper and Relay vans, as well as the Peugeot Boxer, 2006 Fiat Ducato and RAM ProMaster.
Caselini Automobili’s website currently displays several renders of future designs, including a Type H four-wheel drive and a minibus. The limited-edition van, which has been created to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Type H, will be limited to just 70 units. However, there’s as yet no disclosed limit to production numbers of the remaining concepts.
Those who want to buy a Type H 70th anniversary edition must send the company an expression of interest, as well as pay an initial deposit of £2,500. Caselini Automobili will then contact the buyer with a final set of features within 60 days. If the customer decides to proceed with the purchase, they must then pay 40 per cent of the vehicle’s overall value. Once this has been done, deliveries should be made within seven days and once final payment has been delivered.
