Fire crews called to tackle 5am bin fire in Wellington

Fire crews were called to an early morning bin fire early on Monday morning.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Chapel Lane in Wellington at around 5.50am.

The blaze involved two wheelie bins, a large quantity of cardboard and approximately two square metres of hedgerow and trees.

One fire engine was dispatched to the scene from Wellington fire station, with crews battling the fire with a hosereel jet.

Within minutes, the blaze was under control and crews issued a stop message at 6.02am.
