Row erupts over Shropshire car lot and 'Channel 4 quiz show contestant'

A row has erupted over a Shropshire car lot after a business owner claimed he was kicked off the site so a TV quiz show contestant could take over and scoop a cash prize - something the landlord and the TV show contestant have very much denied.

Shaun Williams has been running Humbers Car Centre in Humber Lane in Telford for the last two years.

The car salesman of 30 years says he was asked to leave his site the end of August by his landlord, who wished to sell the property.

After leaving the lot, and having to find a temporary new home for his 41 cars in Tweedale, Shaun says he was shocked to discover another car lot had spring up on the vacant site - although the new car lot will only be temporary, according to the landlord.

He added that he was even more shocked to learn that the car dealer on the site was an old school friend, Dale Oliver, who is appearing in a Channel 4 quiz show in which he could scoop thousands in prize money.

"I've spent two years building this business up," said Shaun. "When I was asked to leave I was told it was because the landlords would not be able to sell the site with me on it.
