Buffy star Anthony Head on target to help Bullseye at Telford dog rescue centre
Actor Anthony Head has lent a helping hand, donating a new bed to a dog in need at a kennels in Shropshire.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has given the gift of a new bed to Bullseye, a homeless bull terrier which is being looked after at Hillbrae Pets Hotel in Cold Hatton near Telford.
The actor also known for his role in Merlin and the Golden Blend coffee adverts phoned up Hillbrae to offer a lending hand to Bullseye, who has been at the rehoming charity for three years.
Staff there say the American bull terrier was spotted by the actor's wife Sarah Fisher on its Facebook page and as a result he posted a brand new bed for the canine to help make his life as comfortable as possible.
Hillbrae Rescue Kennels takes in stray and unwanted dogs and has around 70 dogs looking for new homes.
Operator Marty Burrell, says the actor who played the mentor Rupert Giles in the American hit series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, was among several donors to come forward after staff at the kennel featured Bullseye story on social media.
"We are very grateful to all the people who have taken notice and try and the dogs.
"One of the workers put some information on social media about one of our dogs that has been here for about three years and it has generated a lot of interest from people who have been sending it presents, such as beds and toys from all over the place.
"We do not ever want to be a place where a dog spends the whole of their lives here.
"To us that is a second class life compared to when they actually have home of their own."
