Tree blocks busy main road for hours
A huge fallen tree blocked both sides of a busy main road, disrupting motorists travelling to and from south Shropshire.

The tree was reported to be obstructing the A49 near Hope under Dinmore, south of Leominster, around 10.30am yesterday and blocked the road for several hours.
Police closed the A49 between the A4013 and A417 to clear the tree, and were able to re-open the southbound carriageway at about 1.45pm.
Chaos was reported on Hereford’s roads as motorists in both directions were forced to divert to get around the blockage.
In the city, about eight miles south of where the tree fell, backed up traffic stretched through streets and across roundabouts.
The northbound carriageway was cleared and re-opened by about 4pm.
