Rush hour delays after Shrewsbury A5 crash
Rush hour traffic was brought to a standstill on the A5 near Shrewsbury this evening after a crash.
One westbound lane was closed on the A5 after the crash, which happened soon before 4pm at the Preston Island, east of Shrewsbury.
The AA said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on A5 Westbound before A49 (Preston Island).
"The accident is just prior to the Preston Island, affecting traffic heading away from M54 towards Shrewsbury."
Motorists were delayed by up to 20 minutes while emergency services made the scene safe.
The road was reopened around 6pm.
