The man had to be rescued from a machine at ETC Sawmills at about 11am today, Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said.
He was helped by three fire crews before being taken to hospital for treatment.
Jordan Eggington from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.50am to [Elson Road] in Ellesmere. We sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.
"Crews arrived to find one patient, a man. He was treated at the scene for serious injuries, and flown to the major trauma centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
ETC Sawmills has been approached for comment.
