Shropshire's Knife Angel could be heading to national TV show
Shropshire's knife angel could be on its way to being a TV star.
The British Ironwork Centre, near Oswestry - the home of the anti-knife crime sculpture - has been contacted by ITV's This Morning breakfast show which wants to feature the Knife Angel.
Clive Knowles, chairman of the centre near Oswestry said: "We are pulling out all the stops to try and make this momentous opportunity happen, obtaining prices from hauliers and crane companies, and organizing to get the sculpture to London for the show as soon as possible.
"This will be an incredible opportunity to get the Angel's voice heard even further afield through highlighting the importance of knife crime awareness and educating our youth."
The Ironwork Centre and sculptuor Alfie Bradley want to see the Knife Angel go on display in London, preferably in Trafalgar Square.
Church of England Bishops including those in the capital are backing a tour of cathedrals across the country by the sculpture.
It has already been to Liverpool and Hull and is now in storage waiting to go on display outside Coventry Cathedral.
