The cyclist suffered serious shoulder injuries in the incident at the junction of the B5009 and Top Street in Whittington on August 10.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance and is now awaiting surgery.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the female driver of the car had failed to stop to speak to officers.

"We are trying to trace a possible witness who stopped at the incident but didn't give any details.

"The woman is believed to be in her 40s, had a child with her and was driving a blue or silver estate car.

"If anyone saw the incident or has details about the car please phone West Mercia Police on 101 and quote incident ref 641S 100818."
