Burglars raid British Heart Foundation charity shop

Thieves have broken into the British Heart Foundation shop in Welshpool town centre.

The raiders targeted the shop in Broad Street in the early hours of yesterday morning .

Staff at the store say that a number of valuable items were either stolen or damaged.

Dyfed Powys police are investigating the break in and will be studying CCTV footage of the burglary.

The store is the latest charity shop to be targeted by thieves in Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Several Severn Hospice shops have been raided in recent weeks and the Cancer Research store in Newtown is also believed to have been broken into at the weekend.

Anyone with information about the Welshpool break-in can ring Dyfed-Powys police on 101.
