No new Covid deaths recorded in Shropshire

No new Covid deaths were recorded at Shropshire's main hospitals in the latest figures released on Saturday.

According to the latest NHS figures 572 people have died with Covid-19 at county trusts since the start of the pandemic.

Of those, 531 have been at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, 34 at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust and seven at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, near Oswestry. A further 281 people have died in county care homes.

In Powys there have been 235 deaths according to Office of National Statistics data.

Hospitals in England have reported a further 185 deaths in the previous 24-hour period, bringing the total to 84,276.

Elsewhere, 18,835,355 coronavirus vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.

In the Midlands, 3,527,175 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 126,482 second doses have been carried out.

The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and March 4.
