Mourners gathered for the church service in the Moray town of Forres to remember Flt Sgt Gerard Bell, known to family and friends as Gez, who was buried with full military honours.
The service was held at The Forres Parish Church of St Laurence, just a few miles from RAF Kinloss where he was stationed.
Flt Sgt Bell, 48, met his wife Fiona in Shifnal after they had both attended The Blessed Robert Johnson School, in Wellington. The couple had two daughters, Anne-Marie and Charlene.
During the Requiem Mass, Flt Sgt Bell's brother Michael gave a eulogy. Mr Bell's mother and father-in-law William and Beryl Kane from Newport travelled to Scotland for the service.
School friends of Mr Bell were also expected to travel from the Telford area.
