5 things we’re most looking forward to at Snooker’s Players Championship

The Best Players on the Planet

This is an elite world ranking event with only the best 16 players of the season so far earning a place in the small field. So only the players in form will be in the draw, and that includes all-time greats like world number one Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams and Mark Allen.

Another dramatic final?

This event has been staged in Telford since 2024 and the last two finals have been edge-of-the-seat stuff. Two years ago, Mark Allen won an epic battle against Zhang Anda by a 10-8 scoreline. And last season it was even closer as Kyren Wilson beat Judd Trump 10-9. Snooker has a habit of producing those thrilling moments and creating an electric atmosphere…make sure you don’t miss the chance to be there!

Will there be a 147?

So high is the standard of play at snooker’s top level now that the record for 147 breaks has been smashed this season. There was a time when a maximum was a rare occurrence, but already this season 22 perfect breaks have been made, compared to the previous record of 15 set last season. This underlines the extraordinary skills of the top players…..if you have never seen them in action before, now is your chance!
