Meetings with a county football association have taken place over alleged racial slurs directed towards Shropshire players, it has been revealed.

The talks are over a video showing two men using racist terms, some of which are apparently directed towards players from AFC Ludlow. The video, filmed by the two men in a bar, was sent to an unidentified man.

The matter is being investigated by police as a possible case of racially aggravated harassment.

The 13-second clip involves two men connected to Hereford Lads Club, who were in the same league as AFC Ludlow last season.

Hereford Lads Club chairman Wayne Sheehan said: "We have now met with Herefordshire FA and are working closely with them.

"But only on the conclusion of the police investigation can we make any comment. When we can act, we will act," he said.

Jim Lambert, Herefordshire FA's chief executive, said the FA's head office was aware of the video, but again no action was being taken until the police investigation was complete.

Merseyside Police, the force investigating, confirmed it had received a report of racially aggravated harassment. A spokesman said: "Officers received a report on May 16 that a video had been sent to the male victim in which some comments of a racial nature were made."

No-one from AFC Ludlow was available to comment on the matter.
