Man hurt as car flips over and hits tree
A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after his car flipped over and crashed into a tree.
The silver car drifted across the road before going up the kerb, rolling over and hitting a tree on Newport Road close to Tong, near Shifnal, according to witnesses.
The driver was treated for minor head injuries at the scene before being taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.
The road was not blocked or closed but the car did need to be recovered.
Chris Ammonds, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said one car was involved in the crash just before 7.30pm yesterday.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle also attended the scene.
Alex Madden, 17, who was cycling along the road at the time of the accident said: "It all happened quite slowly.
"I was riding my bike when out of the corner of my eye I saw the car move into the opposite lane.
"The car hit the kerb then slid along the grass before it hit something, rolled over and hit the tree."
Anyone with any information is encouraged to call West Mercia Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
