Concord College’s alumni officer Laura Kingsley described the number of Concordians on the alumni network as a ‘huge feat.’

Miss Kingsley, who became alumni officer last September, said: “I am so thrilled we have reached this incredible milestone on the official alumni network – 2,500 is a fantastic achievement and we hope to see the network go from strength to strength in the future.

“It is reassuring to know in today’s world, where we all live such busy lives, our alumni still have the time to support their fellow Concordians through mentorship, careers advice, or just putting in a ‘good word.’

"Those connections will last a lifetime.

“We hope everyone finds the network a welcoming, inclusive space to share ideas and reconnect with old friends, and even make a few new ones too.”

The site, designed to keep Concordians connected after life at Concord, allows alumni to receive news, emails and events, look through photos, videos and magazine archives, as well as offer or find business, jobs and mentorship opportunities around the world.

Enriching

It has a forum for queries and for those who need social or business networking advice as well as a dedicated fundraising tool.

In a video message to the alumni community, Concord’s principal, Neil Hawkins, described achieving 2,500 Concordians as ‘absolutely amazing’ and ‘truly humbling’.

He added: “I am confident this wonderful alumni community will continue to grow and will bring so much to each other. In this strange world we value enriching our lives even more.”

Concord recently launched an alumni network mobile app, ‘Concord College Alumni Network’, which is available on the AppStore and Google Play Store.

There have already been over 100 downloads of the app.

Concord’s digital marketing officer Josh Coffey said: “The alumni community spans across social platforms too, with a closed Facebook group comprising 1,700 members and over 400 alumni on Concord’s newly introduced LinkedIn page.”

The alumni network of students and staff goes back as far as 1955, with the oldest alumni American James Brann, a 1955-56 student who celebrates his 83rd birthday at the end of January.
