Celebrities are signing up for Cheswardine school auction
They wrote off to celebrities more in hope than expectation – but now children at a Shropshire school can boast their very own who's who of A-list autographs.
Signed photographs of Katherine Jenkins, Jamie Oliver and Frank Lampard are just some of the items that have poured in.
And now they are set to be auctioned off to raise the money needed for a new playground.
The idea came from enterprising members of the PTA at Cheswardine Primary School near Market Drayton.
They included Emma Davies who, with children from the school, set about writing off to celebrities.
She said: "For the past few months we have been writing letters and also going out celebrity spotting.
"For example we have a signed picture of Joss Stone who appeared in Shrewsbury recently to judge a dog show.
"We have sent so many e-mails and letters and we now have lots of great signed stuff to auction away.

"And we have a great Katherine Jenkins signed photo and a signed copy of Shane Filan's first solo single."
The promise auction is taking place on November 8 at the Fox and House Pub, in Cheswardine, near Market Drayton, to raise money for the school, which hopes to raise at least £3,000.
Mrs Davies said alongside the celebrity memorabilia there are also many other interesting lots.
The event will take place from 5pm. For more see the Cheswardine Promise Auction on Facebook.
