Telford man spends six weeks in custody for 'giving a woman a bruise'

A Telford man who has spent six weeks in custody for giving a woman a bruise after grabbing her arm has been given a conditional discharge.

Karl Perrins, aged 42, of Vicarage Road, in Dawley, had pleaded guilty on September 11 to assaulting a woman in Telford four days earlier.

He also pleaded guilty to damaging a TV cable housing to an unknown value of less than £5,000 which belonged to the same woman.

Perrins had not been sentenced after pleading guilty and Telford Magistrates Court, sitting on Tuesday was told that the sentence had been adjourned so a report could be prepared.
