Man accused of stealing ballot boxes and tampering with vote papers in Telford appears in court
A man accused of stealing ballot boxes and tampering with voting papers from Telford by-elections has appeared in court.
The accused is alleged to have carried out the crimes outside Dawley Town Hall after the conclusion of two by-elections for Dawley Parish Council.
Shrewsbury Crown Court heard that the man may not be fit to plead. Judge Anthony Lowe ordered for two psychiatric reports to be prepared before the case is listed for mention again on September 1.
