A man has been allowed to continue driving even though he now has 14 points on his licence.

Daniel Mills admitted by post that he drove a Skoda Citigo near a primary school without insurance on January 28.

He requested a court hearing as he already had eight points on his licence and was liable for an automatic ban. The 31-year-old of Great House Villa, Nantmel, put forward an exceptional hardship argument as to why he should not lose his licence when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates Court on Wednesday last week.
