Man suffers potentially life-changing injuries in Wellington town centre attack

A 20-year-old man has been left with what are thought to be life-changing injuries after he was attacked in Wellington town centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on Tan Bank in Wellington, between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on Tuesday.

The victim received multiple wounds, some thought to be life-changing. He attended Princess Royal Hospital.

DS Dawson from Malinsgate Station said: "We believe this is an isolated incident but are appealing to the public to come forward with any information, if they saw the incident take place or have dash-cam footage from the town centre around the time it happened.

"Please contact me on 01952 214612 quoting reference 847i March 30."

Police have not confirmed the nature of the assault, but West Midlands Ambulance Service did not attend the incident.

The day after the attack, a police cordon was in place on a large area between Tan Bank and Walker Street.
