Bridgnorth bogus charity collectors alert
Police have received reports of possible bogus charity collectors in Bridgnorth.
Resident Susie Gennoe posted to social media in a warning to others about potential fake charity collectors operating in Whitburn Street on Saturday.
PC Graham Donaldson of West Mercia Police, said: "We have been made aware of a recent incident involving possible bogus charity collections taking place in the Whitburn street area of Bridgnorth over the weekend.
"Investigations are currently on-going, and we are keeping an open mind to the genuine nature of these collectors.
"All legitimate charity fundraisers carry official identification when fundraising, so before you donate, ensure that you are satisfied the identification is genuine.
"The message is to be vigilant at all times and if you believe their actions to be suspicious, then please contact us on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress."
