Police investigating spate of burglaries in Shrewsbury area

Police are investigating after a number of properties in the Shrewsbury area were targeted by thieves.

While the occupants were away between April 30 and 7pm on May 5, an attempt was made to break in to a house in Kirkwood Court, Greenfields.

Anyone with any information should call 101 quoting incident number 0698s of May 5.

Between April 25 and May 4, a vacant premises at Manor Farm Barns, Leebotwood, were broken into and damaged. Incident number 0186s of May 4 refers.

Officers say a suspected attempt was also made to break into a house in St Chads Terrace in Shrewsbury between 6pm on May 2 and 6.15pm on May 6 while the homeowners were away.

A door was damaged but no entry was gained.

A detached cottage outbuilding at Montford Bridge was broken into between 10pm on May 5 and 6.45am the next morning.

A variety of gardening and carpentry power tools were stolen. A trailer was taken to remove the stolen items and was later recovered by police. Incident 0155s of May 6 refers.

Investigations are continuing after a shovel was used to break open the door to a garden shed at Betton, near Cross Houses overnight between 11.50pm on May 5 and 12.45am the next day.

No thefts were reported but anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 0330s of May 6.

During the same night a car at a neighbouring property was raided and a wallet, coat, cash and bank cards were stolen. Some of the items were recovered nearby. Incident 0478s of May 6 refers.

A flat in New Street, Frankwell, was entered and searched between 3pm on May 5 and 3am the next morning and a Playstation 4 was stolen. Incident 0088s of May 6 refers.

Police are also investigating after a show house on a busy building site in Abbey Walk, Ellesmere Road, was attacked between 4.30pm on May 5 and 7.30am on May 8.

Furniture was moved around and a battery drill and a Nikon camera were stolen. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 0091s of May 8.

Finally, between 9.30am and 11am on Monday, a green and white Viking lawnmower was taken from an unlocked detached garage in Oaklands, Cross Houses.
