Football club drug dealer is told to expect prison sentence
A man who was caught supplying cocaine in the toilets of a football club has been told to prepare for a jail sentence.
Robert Edwards was spotted behaving suspiciously in the toilets of Newtown Football Club's Latham Park ground on April 13.
He admitted four counts relating to the possession and supply of cocaine and other banned substances when he appeared at Mold Crown Court yesterday.
Mr Gareth Preston, prosecuting, told the court 22-year-old Edwards was known to have connections "to people capable of supplying large quantities of drugs".
Edwards, of Penderry Road, Swansea, was bailed ahead of sentencing on September 23.
But Judge Niclas Parry, told him to expect to receive a jail sentence.
He said: "You will be on bail until then, but prepare for custody because you know that is coming your way."
Edwards admitted charges of possessing 21.98g of cocaine, supplying an unknown quantity of cocaine, supplying an unknown quantity of trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine and benzylpiperazine, both class C drugs, and possession with intent to supply 6.39g of trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine and benzylpiperazine.
Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine, also known as TFMPP, used to be sold as a legal alternative to ecstasy but is now a Class C drug in its own right.
Benzylpiperazine, also known as BZP, is a drug with euphoriant and stimulant properties which has a similar affect on the body as amphetamines.
