Heroes' gazebo is taken from Shrewsbury Flower Show
Help for Heroes volunteers have been left devastated after their gazebo was taken from the Shrewsbury Flower Show.
The 6ft gazebo, worth £600, which belongs to the Shropshire branch of the charity for wounded servicemen and women, was packed up and left overnight on Saturday ready for collection yesterday.
But the large black bag it was contained in, together with another black bag containing the side panels, has gone missing and volunteers have now reported it to the police.
They say the items were too large to have been carried away and must have been wheeled instead.
Lynne Fox, county coordinator for the charity, said: "It is very disappointing because you think at a show like that it will be safe and the instructions said things must be taken away by Monday so in naivety we thought it would be okay overnight."
She added: "It won't be until they open it that they will realise it is a Help for Heroes one.
"The danger is that someone will dump it when they find out it is no use to them. We're not after retribution – we just want our gazebo back."
