Man attacks woman, 22, in Market Drayton
A 22-year-old woman was grabbed from behind by a man who pushed her to the ground and then threw her against a wall during an attack in Market Drayton.
The man demanded money and a phone from the woman before running off empty-handed.
The incident happened at about 8.15pm on Tuesday night on Berrisford Road while the woman was out walking her dog.
The woman was walking towards the canal when she was attacked near the viaduct and steps. Her assailant ran off under the viaduct.
Police said the woman was extremely frightened and distressed but not seriously hurt. They have now launched an appeal for anyone with any information about the attack to come forward.
The man is described as white, aged 22 to 30, about 5ft 6ins tall and of skinny build with small eyes and thin lips. He had a thin long face and he was wearing a grey hoodie top which smelt of cannabis.
Richard Ewels, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young woman and we are anxious to find the offender.
"We are appealing for witnesses or any other information."
