Shropshire school worker charged with child sex offences

A 52-year-old teaching assistant has been charged with indecently assaulting children at a private school in Shropshire in the 1980s.

A 52-year-old teaching assistant has been charged with indecently assaulting children at a private school in Shropshire in the 1980s.

John Addrison, of Datchet Road, Slough, has been charged with seven counts of indecent assault while working at Moor Park School near Ludlow between 1985 and 1988. The charges relate to three alleged victims.

Thames Valley Police has worked closely with Moor Park School which has been assisting with the investigation.

Addrison is on police bail and will next appear before High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on August 28.

He has also been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a child under 16 years old and one count of gross indecency with a child under 14 years old, allegedly committed while he worked at Caldicott Preparatory School in Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire, as a teaching assistant. Caldicott's alumni include England cricket captain Andrew Strauss.

The £6,000-a-term Moor Park is a mixed day and boarding school.
