Uniq takeover nearly complete

The takeover of Uniq – which has announced 350 job losses at a Shropshire dairy – by Irish food company Greencore is almost complete, bosses said today.

The £113 million deal moved nearer after Greencore agreed to buy 98 per cent of the firm's shares.

Last month, Uniq announced 350 redundancies at its Minsterley dairy.
