'I need to give up taking drugs', says candid Telford shoplifter after stealing from Next to fund habit
A shoplifter who stole reed diffusers from Next has accepted he needs to “give up taking drugs”.
Mark Vaughan, aged 54, lifted two diffusers worth a total of £68 from the shop in Telford town centre.
The theft was described as “unsophisticated” by prosecutor Kate Price at Telford Magistrates Court, who said a police officer recognised Vaughan and arrested him. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the shop.
