New proposals show that Starbucks has expressed interest in moving into the planned development, which would be built near to the former Blockbuster store and Staples in Rampart Way, Telford.

Sheet Anchor Evolve has lodged the plans with Telford & Wrekin Council.

A report, submitted with the planning application, reads: "Interest has been expressed by Starbucks Coffee Co to occupy the drive-through cafe."

The cafe would have 48 seats inside and additional seating under a canopy outside.

The report says: "It is considered that the development proposal will have a positive impact on the vitality and viability of Telford town centre and provide a complementary 'town centre use'."

"The proposed drive-thru will generate footfall within its own right whilst also providing 'linked trips' to nearby town centre uses.

"The development proposal will not have an adverse impact on nearby amenity, neither will it negatively impact upon the local highways network."

It is thought the business will create around 10 jobs.

The site earmarked for the development forms part of an existing car park adjacent to the former Blockbuster store and Staples.

A decision on the plans will be made by Telford & Wrekin Council in the upcoming months.
