Amy ran 53 consecutive marathons during August and September to bring in money for the Isabelle Lottie Foundation, which supports the families of children with brain tumours.

She managed to raise £35,000 by the end of her runs and has been doing extra events, including a Halloween half marathon around Oswestry, to boost her fundraising.

On Friday Amy, from Cabin Lane in Oswestry, held a final party and auction with prizes including spa packages, signed football shirts and Manchester United tickets to bring in the final cash needed to reach her target.

The event was held at the Lion Quays, where she works.

She said: "I am so incredible happy and proud to announce that we smashed the £53,000 target on Friday night.

"I really wanted to reach my target by Christmas and it's definitely the best early Christmas present for me and Izzy's foundation.

"Thank you so much to everyone that came on Friday night and helped raise a massive £3,500, taking us to a total of £53,500. It was an amazing night and I genuinely appreciate all the support I have received throughout 53."

She also thanked her friend Dave Keighley who supported her throughout the challenge, running several marathons with her, and helping to organise extra fundraising events.

It was the end of a busy week for the 26-year-old which saw her switch on Oswestry's Christmas lights and present an unsung hero award at the West Midlands Community Sports Awards.
