Mervyn Woodward, 76, of Garth Owen, Newtown, denies a charge of driving without due care and attention.

It is alleged that Woodward was reversing into a disabled parking bay at McDonald's in Pool Road, Newtown, on February 6 when he collided with a pedestrian who was standing in the bay with her grandchildren.

The woman who was hit, who has not been named, suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Woodward, who was not at the hearing at Welshpool Magistrates Court yesterday, had denied the offence at an earlier hearing.

He will stand trial at the court on January 19, 2015.
