The countdown is on to a Flights of Fantasy weekend at RAF Cosford Museum which will help bring these memories flooding back.

The event, which is being held this weekend, will see Thunderbirds co-creator Sylvia Anderson holding talking and doing Q&A sessions. During the nostalgic event, puppets from iconic shows such as Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Fireball XL5, and Captain Scarlet will be on show.

Many of the puppets are the original studio puppets and will be shown in the museum's National Cold War Exhibition for the first time. Collector Larry Peterson, whose puppets will be shown at the event, said: "There will be most of the available puppets from the 1960s TV shows Thunderbirds and Joe 90. "

After the show, creator Gerry Anderson threw the puppets away because he didn't like them, but they have been salvaged by fans.

"A lot of the puppets were in a bad state but they have been restored and brought back to their former glory.

"The reason I collect them is because I watched the shows when I was younger, and I always wanted a puppet then."

Mrs Anderson, who helped create the shows with husband Gerry, will hold exclusive talks with question and answer sessions on both days, between 10.30am and 4.00pm, for a limited number of visitors. Shane Rimmer who voiced hero Scott Tracey will also be at the event.

One day Q&A session tickets with multiple guest talks cost £25.00, weekend tickets cost £40.00, but entry to the event itself is free. There will be more than 50 original puppets and 150 models created by fans on show.
