Those who pay business rates are being invited to a public meeting at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, on February 11 at 6.30pm.

Cabinet member for finance, Councillor Dai Davies said: "Open to all businesses, the meeting will give local companies an opportunity to find out about the county council's expenditure plans for the coming financial year.

"The meeting will give businesses and organisations like chambers of commerce, chambers of trade, local representatives of the Confederation of British Industry and the Institute of Directors the opportunity to ask questions on the council's budget plans for the coming financial year."

Powys County Council has put forward a range of proposals for making cuts in its budget.

Strategic director of Powys County Council, David Powell, said: "The reality is we have a £20 million gap that needs to be bridged in the next 12 months and £40 million in three years and we have come a long way in identifying savings."
