Water off at homes in Ludlow

Up to 135 homes and businesses could be without water in Ludlow tomorrow – just two days after hundreds were left high and dry for more than 10 hours because of a burst pipe.

The water supply was eventually turned back on at 4am yesterday to reconnect nearly 400 homes and shops in Overton Road.

But Severn Trent warned many of those face being without water again tomorrow as further repair work is needed to fix the burst pipe.

Sarah-Jane Dean, spokeswoman for Severn Trent Water, said: "We would like to apologise to customers and thank them for their patience.

"We received reports of a burst pipe at 7.30pm on Sunday. We carried out an emergency repair . . . but we need to complete some further repairs on Wednesday."

She added up to 135 customers may be affected.
