Shifnal Town Council's clerk has left role
The clerk at Shifnal Town Council has left his post after just two months in the job.
Nigel Leadbeater, from Ruyton XI Towns, took on the role in November.
The announcement that he had left came in a statement from mayor Councillor Eileen Briscoe.
It said: "It is with regret that the Shifnal Town Mayor announces that after a period of two months, town clerk, Mr Nigel Leadbeater, is no longer employed by the council."
The statement follows a closed session at an additional ordinary meeting of the council, held last Thursday at the council offices.
Members of the public and the press were excluded from the meeting. It is also believed Mr Leadbeater was absent from the talks.
Mr Leadbeater today declined to comment on the situation.
Councillor Briscoe said the council's project officer Mac Sandel would now step into the role.
