Ludlow Assembly Rooms colour scheme delayed

A secret ballot over what colour to repaint an historic arts venue in Shropshire has proved inconclusive.

Some of the 40 people who took part in the vote to decide what colour Ludlow Assembly Rooms should be, suggested multiple colours and dismissed options presented to them.

Now staff at the theatre and officials at Shropshire Council will have to decide the colour.

The Mill Street theatre was painted lilac eight years ago but has provoked mixed opinions.

The ballot offered people a choice of green, yellow or blue.

Rachel Buchanan, director of Ludlow Assembly Rooms, said: "We are delighted so many people took part in the vote, but it proved inconclusive."
