A street in Ludlow town centre has been closed for three days following a gas leak.
Brand Lane, which runs between Broad Street and Old Street, was closed by engineers following reports of the leak on Saturday.
Diversions have been put in place and heavy goods vehicles have been diverted away from the area while repair work is carried out.
Engineers for National Grid Gas were working at the scene yesterday and were hopeful the road would re-open today.
Jane Taylor, spokeswoman for the National Grid, said only a small amount of gas escaped from a pipe and said supplies to homes in the town centre were not affected.
She said the narrow road had to be closed to allow workmen to reach the pipe.
