A councillor has been kicked off Ludlow Town Council after he failed to attend a meeting for more than six months, it has been revealed.
Kevin Mitchell, known to his colleagues as Mitch, failed to attend any meetings in a six month period from August last year until February this year.
And under Government legislation it means Mr Mitchell, who represented the Rockspring ward, is no longer eligible to retain his seat on the council.
Gina Wilding, deputy clerk of Ludlow Town Council, said: "Councillor Mitchell was disqualified from being a councillor after he failed to attend enough meetings. He failed to attend a full council meeting over the past six months."
Mr Mitchell was unavailable for comment.
Fellow councillor Roma Jackson, councillor for Whitcliffe, resigned from her position on the council on Friday for personal reasons.
The council has now advertised to fill the two vacancies.
