TV viewers in Telford and most of the rest of Shropshire were today reminded to re-tune their boxes to restore channels which will disappear as part of the digital switchover.

Those with a Freeview box or set served by The Wrekin transmitter will find channels are no longer available from today unless they re-tune.

The services have moved to new frequencies and can be restored by re-tuning Freeview TVs and boxes.

Digital UK bosses said viewers in some areas could also find digital TVs or boxes picking up more than one regional service.

Advice on prioritising the preferred regional service is available from Digital UK and the Switchover Help Scheme is open until October 28.

A spokesman for Digital UK said: "Viewers receiving a TV signal from The Wrekin main transmitter will need to re-tune their Freeview TV or box on or after today. This re-tune is to ensure you continue to receive all available Freeview channels and is part of the technical changes for the digital switchover."
