Why is late entry fee so expensive?
LETTER - Well, what can I say? We go to Shrewsbury Flower Show every year but after last Friday I definitely won't again.
LETTER - Well, what can I say? We go to Shrewsbury Flower Show every year but after last Friday I definitely won't again. We were hoping to go all day on the Saturday, but changed our minds because of the weather forecast.
Instead, we went at 6pm on the Friday. The entry fee was reduced to £8.50 for adults and £7.50 for OAPs, so the total cost came to £24.50 for our party
We were so looking forward to going; it would be quieter and we would be able to saunter around the tents and trade stands. But on entering the flower tents, there were not as many traders displaying their flowers. The tents were, I would say, a quarter empty.
We proceeded to go around the trade stands - they were packing!
Why were we charged so much money to go in at that time of the night when hardly anything was there to view or purchase?
The craft and food tents were open but they looked as if they were exhausting their stocks and packing up.
In the main arena were the Welsh male voice choir and a pipe band. Hardly any people were watching, they seemed to be venturing home - I wonder why.
We went to go back into the flower tents at about 7.30pm to buy some seeds, but that particular trader had gone home, even though the tent wasn't supposed to close until 9pm.
Can someone explain why the show charges as much as this after 6pm? It might be because some people go in at that time to get a good view of the fireworks, which start at 10pm. But please, let there be something we can do while we are waiting.
