A Shropshire country house has been sold for almost £2 million.
The Old Rectory at Woolstaston is described as an "exceptional country house" and sits on the side of the Long Mynd with views of the Stretton Hills.
The building is believed to date from the 17th century and was extended in the 1850s by Reverend E Donald Carr.
Mark Wiggin, a partner at Strutt & Parker, said: "The Old Rectory generated considerable interest and interest came from far and wide for the property.
"There continues to be a good demand for quality properties at whatever price level, so long as they are sensibly priced.
"We are now preparing houses for the autumn market and anybody who is thinking of selling should contact us sooner rather than later."
The agents quoted a guide price of £1.85 million for the rectory, which has four reception rooms and six main bedrooms. There are further bedrooms on the second floor and outside there is a range of outbuildings, a coach house and a two bedroom cottage.
The former coach house has been refurbished to create a gallery/party room. Land to the property extends to about 53 acres.
