LETTER - Over the last year or so we have read time and time again about the divide in Great Dawley Parish Council since Tawpa members joined the ranks.

Since becoming members, Tawpa has at every available opportunity derided its opponents.

This has lead to acts of in-fighting, publishing leaflets to inform parishioners of Great Dawley how untrustworthy the Labour, Conservative and Independent councillors are, throwing tantrums and walking out of meetings.

I agree fully with the letter by ex-Great Dawley parish councillor Gary Hodson. If Tawpa cannot work with other members of the council to better the parish, irrespective of age, gender etc, why remain members?

Take note of what he says. Show you can set aside differences and work with fellow councillors, agree to disagree, fully improve Dawley for one and all or do the honourable thing - resign.

I have been a member of Lawley and Overdale Parish Council for more than four years. There are times when I do not agree with decisions we make but we have always prided ourselves on dealing with differences in a diplomatic manner and following procedure.

Our council works as a team. That's how a parish council should work.
