Can't we have a youth centre?
Over a year ago the police and community support officers, alongside the mayor Tom Jones and some volunteers, started a youth club in Shifnal.

We also attempted to find a place the young people can call their own. We have looked into developing one of the railway arches in the centre of town, but this was rejected by the town council because of the cost.
The town already has a building called the "youth club" which, I believe, was to be used for the youth of the town. But we are told Shropshire County Council has other plans for the site.
It would not surprise me if the land is already earmarked for even more housing.
Is the town council really committed to providing facilities for the young people of Shifnal?
I feel sad and angry that a town the size of Shifnal has far fewer amenities for our old folk and our youth today than it had in the 1960s when the town was a fraction of the size.
Can we complain about our youths hanging about the town with nothing to do when as a town we are not willing to give them a hand?
