Farmers feature in calendar

Shoppers at Welshpool Farmers' Market on Friday will be among the first in the county to receive a specially produced free 2008 calendar.

The Glasu Powys Farmers' Market Calendar for next year will remind shoppers of dates and places of each monthly market and promote the advantages of buying fresh locally produced food.

Each month features one of the regular stallholders at the county's popular markets and as they set up their stalls in Llandrindod Wells last week, they were able to find which month they had been allocated.

They included Penmincae Farm for February and Elan Valley Mutton for August.

Free copies of the new calendar will be available from Welshpool Farmers' Market in Broad Street this Friday. They will also be given out at markets in Brecon, Knighton, Llandrindod Wells and Presteigne throughout November and December.
