Firm should pay for rubbish

£40 per week is more than a bag of rubbish? What nonsense. What about large families, or those who don't have a car to take it to the skip site?

Let's knock this on the head now, or maybe it's too late, as the deal has been done? People will burn it on bonfires or simply tip it on any piece of ground they can find, sooner than pay the import.

The proposed incinerator at Shrewsbury will not be able to run continually, as it will be short of rubbish they say. Yet there is a proposal to charge householders £40 for providing the fuel, which then converts to electricity, and sells to the grid.

I call this a rip-off big time. They should pay people for their rubbish if the company is going to make money out of it, not charge them for it.

Al Capone would have been proud of the set-up.
