Shoppers in Bridgnorth are set to benefit from extra parking spaces and a new store in the town.

A building at Sydney Cottage Drive, Bridgnorth, is on the market with agents Nick Tart for about £350,000.

The building, which includes the post office, has planning permission for an extension, a shop unit and four car spaces.

But a spokeswoman from the post office today said the store would not be closing following the sale.

She said: "I am a sitting tenant. It's just the building that's up for sale."

Keith Alderson, of the butchers next door to the site, said: "The planning permission is for more shops but I don't know what. I doubt it would be another butchers."

A spokesman from agents Nick Tart said: "The property comprises an existing post office let on a commercial lease for 15 years from 2006. It has planning approval passed by Bridgnorth District Council on June 27."
